Search by specialty and location. GOC-verified. Free to use. No money through the site — your patient pays the practice directly.
List your practice free. GOC-verified. Seen by optometrists referring patients across the UK.
Free to list. Verified against the GOC register. Automatically delisted if your registration lapses each April.
Optom2Optom is a free UK directory of optometrists searchable by specialty, equipment, and location. It exists because there has never been a structured pathway for optometrist-to-optometrist referral — and patients were missing out on specialists who could help them.
Every listing is verified against the GOC register. Listings are automatically reviewed each April and removed if registration has lapsed. No money passes through the site — patients contact and pay the practice directly.
Find by what the patient needs, not just what's nearby.
Every practitioner declares upfront whether they return patients.
Auto-checked against the GOC register every April.
Reviews tied to actual referrals through the site. Clearly labelled.
Free to list. Free to search. No subscription, no commission.
Aggregate referral stats available for sponsors. No patient data ever shared.
Through the site: Fill in a short referral form. Sent to up to three practices simultaneously. Patient is contacted by the practice. One week later the patient receives a review link — the only way to leave a verified review.
Offline: Find the specialist here, give your patient their name and number. They call directly. Still counts as a directory hit. No verified review possible but unverified reviews can still be left.
Patient self-refers: Patient finds the directory, searches by specialty and location, sees fees, clicks contact. Practice is contacted directly.

What we collect from practitioners: Name, GOC number, practice name, location, phone number, website, email address, specialties, equipment, fees, and bio. This is professional information provided voluntarily for the purpose of appearing in the directory.
What we collect from referrals: Patient first name and contact details (phone or email) submitted by the referring optometrist. This is used solely to facilitate the referral and to send a review link one week later. It is not stored beyond 30 days.
What we do not collect: Clinical records, prescriptions, diagnoses, financial information, or any sensitive patient data.
GOC verification: GOC numbers are checked against the publicly available GOC register on registration and annually each April.
Analytics: We record aggregate click data (searches made, contact buttons pressed, referrals sent) for the purpose of reporting to sponsors. This data is never individual or identifiable.
Your rights: You may request removal of your listing at any time by emailing hello@optom2optom.co.uk. Your listing will be removed within 48 hours.
